Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree from Tulane University, where I studied Art with a concentration on Theatre. While I was in college, and after, I helped introduce Shakespeare to students throughout New Orleans by working in a children's theatre. I then went on to become a science teacher for 5th graders in Texas. With these very different experiences, I have developed a tutoring style that focuses on each student's interests, strengths, and abilities. I use this to develop unique lessons and study plans for each of my tutoring students. I am qualified to tutor students in a wide variety of subjects, my favorites being history, science, and English/ literature. I am also able to tutor students in numerous IB and AP classes, and help them as they study for standardized exams like the ACT, among others. I like to use an artistic approach towards tutoring, as this allows my students to have enjoyable lessons that keep them engaged and excited about learning. I believe children do best when they receive "enrichment" education, going beyond the school syllabus to gain more knowledge and experience as their interests drive them. In addition to teaching and tutoring, I enjoy painting, cross stitching, sewing, and reading.
