I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at Michigan State University in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. At MSU, I placed on the Dean's List multiple times, was a member of the National Honour Society of Collegiate Scholars, attended a medical mission to Honduras, and volunteered my time to working with children with special needs. I have previously worked as a tutor as well as a speech therapist aid with students ranging from preschool thru high school. I excelled in one on one sessions with individual students. I'm currently finishing final internship working with students in a special education setting while finishing my Master of Arts degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders at Michigan State University. I will be graduating in May of 2015. My experience with tutoring dates back to my days as high school student. I challenged myself with accelerated curriculum that included AP Calculus, and AP US Government, ultimately preparing me for success in college and beyond. My expertise and background in a wide range of high school, college, and graduate level courses will help students excel in the classroom and in their own studies. Moreover, my study tips and personal advice will give students the competitive edge needed to score high on AP tests or entrance exams such as the ACT, SAT, or GRE. My educational background in upper level communication science and my experience teaching reading, math, and writing will prepare you or your child for success in their current studies and beyond. I also have experience with speech therapy, including articulation, receptive and expressive language, as well as behavioral management. My patience and ability to connect with younger students will make learning fun, and enjoyable. As a tutor, I place a strong emphasis on organization and repetition while breaking down complicated material into simpler forms. My goal is to make learning fun and keep you engaged in order to reach your fullest potential.
